Well, that was a whole lot better than I expected; despite focus on Shirley. And even though it was mainly a comedy episode, there was a lot of plot-related information given as well. I think this episode had more plot elements than all the rest of the comedy episodes, actually. But, I will admit, there was some stuff that made me really happy, and a little sad, too. However, I believe that this ushers the end of the asshat-ery for the series. (Bad pun, I know. And I know that the hats are supposed to be hearts, but everyone else is calling them asshats. So, I'm joining in on the fun, too.)
I might as well get Shirley out of the way. God, I just knew they were going to push her crush on Lelouch. -sigh- I pray to the Geass gods that someone takes her down, in the next episode; if not by the end of this arc. I've pegged Orange-kun to do it, but Rolo is becoming a likely candidate, too. And yet I'm sure she'll end up surviving, somehow; but if she does, she'd better not end up with Lelouch. -Waves Lulu/Kallen flag-
Moving on to Orange-kun, he's got a Geass Canceler. It isn't that surprising, since I've known that from magazine articles; and he's also restored Shirley's memories. Once again, not surprising. And I'm really hyped up for the oncoming Ashford arc, too. We'll see if Orange-kun's still an Orange, or if he really did calm down. Nonetheless, I'm expecting him to be permanently juiced, by the end of the arc. XP Also, was he drinking orange juice, or was it champagne with an orange slice on the glass? Orange champagne?
Oh, yeah! Cornelia-sama's back and kicking ass, even with only one arm! (The other arm is in a sling.) Her hair is longer, and is in a partial braid, like Nunnally's. Still, that Cornelia Li Britannia is one handsome woman! (Stellvia reference!) My favorite part of her scene was when she pointed her Gun/Sword at Bartley's back. And since it's Cornelia-related, Guilford looking at a photo album of both of them and Darlton was both cute and a little strange. He really does love his princess. ^_^ Also, I liked how he gave Suzaku some advice about taking advantage of the peaceful time to interact with his friends. Yeah, Guilford may be obsessed with his Hime-sama, but he really is a decent man.
And how could I not mention Milly? She really did regain my respect, and I'm a little sad at her story being concluded. But, I'm glad that she's away from Ashford now. She won't be caught in the midst of all the destruction going down, soon. I'm sure we'll see her around; maybe in the end with Rivalz. But, she decided to screw the family, and went on to become a weather girl. Sure, she's a weather girl, but at least she's her own person-no strings attached. It kind of reminds me of Anthy at the end of Utena, growing up and going out into the real world. Also...
...NO MORE ENGAGEMENT!!!! YATTA~! While Lloyd is at fault for failure, I do feel a little sad for him. His expression while he's watching Milly broke my heart a little. Even though he seemed upbeat about Milly moving on, he didn't seem as chipper as usual. I actually wouldn't be surprised if it was just a facade; a mask of indifference. On the other hand, I'm way more happier for the main obstacle threatening Lloyd/Cecile being cleared. Now all we have to do, is get Lloyd over his mechaphilia and Cecile to make a move; because we all know Lloyd would never be the instigator.
There were a few amusing random scenes I liked, too. Rolo using his Geass and dragging Lelouch into a locker/closet. Why did I think that Lelouch's head hitting the wall was hilarious? Ninja Maid Sayoko is confirmed to be a ninja! 0_0 And her escapades as masquerading as Lelouch were pretty funny, too. Villetta's side comment about Shirley liking Lelouch and getting shot for it was amusing. But the thing that really amused me was that Arthur had pink and blue asshats on his ears! XD
For today's main Checkpoint, I'll focus on Cornelia-sama! It appears as though she's been doing more research on Marianne, during the year off. She ended up at the Geass ruins/Cult and proceeds to strike down all that get in her way. She ends up finding Bartley with some of his scientists, corners them, and points her Gun/Sword to Bartley's back.
I honestly have no comment for this one, except that she's awesome.
And I'm going to have some fun with today's Lloyd/Cecile Checkpoint. There were two things that really stood out. One's pretty obvious, and the other was just Lloyd being cute during the meeting with Guilford and the Glaston Knights.

You gotta wonder what he's thinking about, though.
And now, the moment we've been waiting for. After seeing Milly doing the weather report, Lloyd mentions her being his ex-fiancee. Despite that he's being his usual genki self, something seems off about him. I'm sure that somewhere inside of him, he feels a little sad. Heck, he looked depressed while watching his ex-fiancee talking about the weather. While Suzaku and some of the random techies gossip about the broken engagement, Cecile gives Lloyd a side glance of concern. Cecile truely knows our beloved Pudding Earl better than anyone else. Well, except Rakshata, of course; but she doesn't count. One thing's for sure, though; I'll be supporting this every step of the way!
Come on, Nee-san, make a move! You can do it!
