Exasperated Sigh

This is another one of those posts where I rant about my college teachers. But I'm going to single out my Economics teacher, for today. Last Thursday we had a test, and we found out that the class average was 62%. Then, she pretty much says that it was our fault that we're not trying hard enough to learn the material. The whole time, I'm thinking, "Are you sure it's not your teaching style?" It's kind of hard to learn the material when you're jumping from subject to subject, you know.

Then, she passes out our mid-semester "progress report"-type sheet. I'm actually doing better than I thought I was, but that's besides the point. I don't think it's a stretch to say that the whole class is failing, at the moment. And those who are beyond help, she circled the final date to drop class on their papers. This happened to a girl that I became friends with, and, naturally, she took offense to it. We ended up leaving, so I could listen to her vent. I really don't blame her for being offended. I mean, that was rather tactless. While we were talking, another one of our classmates came by and said that there were a few other people who walked out. Heh! Looks like we started a trend.

Where do I stand on this? I have no choice but to stay. I'm close to passing, but it all depends on how much effort I put into it. Right now, I probably won't. I have this thing about "If I don't like something, I don't bother with it". In this case, if I don't like the teacher, it's hard for me to put up the effort. It's not good advice, I know, but that's just how it is with me. My opinions are very black and white.

On another note, it looks as though Satoshi and Shinji won the Tag Battle in the latest episode of D/P. Somehow I'm not surprised, but I really wanted Hikari and Kouhei to win. They were more in synch than Satoshi and Shinji ever were. Plus, I think that Hikari needed a win to cheer her up from her devastating loss in the Contest. However, Satoshi did give her one of the Soothe Bells. Not like Shinji's gonna need it anyways. I still haven't seen the episode, since I'm "acquiring" it right now. But I just know I'm going to get overly emotional over saying goodbye to Kouhei, because I'm a dork like that. True, he's another throw-away character, but he's an awesome throw-away character!

Kouhei, banzai!!!

Just Some More Random Thoughts

First off, yeah, I heard about JKR "outing" Dumbledore. Don't think that ever crossed my mind, I am a fangirl after all. But out of all the characters, it had to be him. I was always under the impression that if anyone was a homosexual in the Harry Potter series, it was Remus. And I still don't buy the relationship with Tonks at all! I'm delusional, I know! But, whatever!

Next, I'm still keeping up with the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl raws. Mostly for Guregguru action (I prefer to call him by his Japanese name, more fun to say) amongst other reasons. I have taken a liking to this tag-battle arc that they're doing right now. And I freaking love Hikari's partner, Kouhei! I really wish he wasn't just another throw-away character, because he totally rocks!

You could say, kukuku~?

Then, I have to make a comment on the whole Shinji/Hikozaru situation. I believe I've compared Satoshi and Shinji to Zero and Hiead from Candidate for Goddess before. Let me say this, if Shinji hasn't proved my point before, he sure as hell has now. His abusiveness towards Hikozaru distinctly reminds me of Hiead's abuse to Ikhny. And now, he's gone and abandoned it, like many of his other Pokemon. If Sugisaki ever decides to finish the damn series, I wouldn't put it past Hiead to do the same. I can't wait to see Satoshi and Hikozaru (evolved more than likely) kick Shinji's ass. On the Goddess comparing note, if Satoshi is Zero and Shinji is Hiead, I guess that means that Shirona is Teela. ...Dammit! Now I'm getting all nostalgic!
Finally, I bought the first volume of the Zombie-Loan manga today! I watched the anime over the summer and loved it. The downside was that it was too short and unresolved. However, I've heard that there will be an extra episode on the final DVD. I pretty much liked all of the characters, though Shito's bitchyness annoyed me sometimes. (I have a problem with characters who are pissed off 24/7.) And yes, Bekkou immediately joined my "guys with glasses harem". Yuuta was really cute, too. And I think he's the first character that I had trouble with figuring out his gender. I really liked Shiba, as well, despite certain events.
Ah, I really wish the weekend was longer. I still have to finish reading that book for English class, and do my final draft of my compare/contrast essay. Then, I'm doing some employment searching. This is going to be another busy week, I can just tell.

It's Finally Over!

How I felt after completing my Networking research paper, yesterday.
Yeah, I had my Networking final, today. I know I'm not going to pass, but I really don't care. I'm just sure that I'm not going into networking as a career. So, I'm still looking for what I want to do.
I do have a few random rants I want to get out of my system. First, I know I've said countless times how much I hate my English teacher. But geez, every time I think she couldn't be more of a bitch, she further proves me wrong. Today, we were going over our topic ideas for our compare/contrast papers. A classmate of mine wanted to write about the differences of American and German culture. Not only did she get slammed for the idea (like a few other students), but she also said that she lived in Germany for four years, and preferred the US, because of all the Nazis. When she said that, I was thinking, "Oh, you did not just say that!" I mean, I don't really care that she said that, despite being half German myself. But, there are others who could take offense to that. And the fact that a teacher said it! Full of Nazis huh? Takes one to know one!
A few other minor things happened today, as well. It was pouring down rain, this morning, and I had problems on the road. I was getting blinded by the rain, and had problems steering. Thank God I made it to class in one piece! Then, when I got home, I noticed the front door was open. Apparently, my brother didn't close it all the way. So, I was a little freaked out when I saw that. I could've been a little nicer when I told him not to be careless, but still. Someone could've just walked in and stolen something! He does need to be more aware of things, though. Ah, whatever!
On the bright side, my dad's gone for the week! He's been getting really bad with the drinking, so it's a relief to not have to deal with it for a few days. Also, we tried a new sushi place, tonight. I was really surprised that Mom and Aly wanted to try it out. I was always under the impression that they didn't like sushi. Well, Mom did have a salad, but Aly really surprised me. She ate raw salmon! Dai shokku da! (That's a big shock!) Jake even ate spicy raw tuna! And that's a bigger shock. I don't think he really liked it, though. But hey, I got to eat whatever they didn't want. ^_^
So, despite a few problems, today ended on a nice note.

"I Drove My Car Into A ****ing Lake!"

I think that last night's episode of The Office is going on my favorite episodes list. Yeah, some scenes were way far fetched, and it felt like two episodes in one again. But Dunder-Mifflin Infinity was loads better than Fun Run, in my opinion anyway.

Believe it or not, I felt that the car in lake scenario was hilarious. I guess Micheal proved my point. He did get stupider over the break. If my dad had not just gone to bed, I would have been laughing a lot louder than I did. Then, the whole "Where are the turtles?!?" thing was great, too. If The Office didn't have any meme's or whathaveyou before, I'm thinking they just got one.

Ryan...oh where to begin. I liked him in S2, but I began to hate him in S3. I really don't know what to think of him anymore, to be honest. I like that he's grown a pair, but when Kelly's concerned, he loses them. Which, by the way, I totally called Kelly's bluff. I'm probably going to get killed by saying this, but I hope that he does manage to outsource Kelly to India. God, I hate her! >_<

I'm liking the contrast in the couples. Jim and Pam are finally getting the happiness that they deserve, notwithstanding the snarkyness of the other employees. (I was kind of put off by Toby outing their relationship. I've always felt bad for him, but geez!) All the while, Dwight and Angela broke up. I can't really say I blame her, he did kill her cat after all. I'm sure Dwight'll win her back, though. Just wait and see!

There were some funny random moments that I liked as well. Creed's copy-ink hair dye job and trying to act younger, Andy's "Dunder-Mifflinfinity" (Who thought I'd ever laugh at an Andy quip?), Michael and Jan having lunch, Michael's little seminar on old people (The picture of the "Where's the beef?!" lady had me rolling), and Garbage the cat, among other things. Speaking of which, I wonder what happened to Garbage. Could we have a deleted scene about this, perhaps?

On an unrelated note, I got my Chara Fortune Lloyd, yesterday. He's a lot smaller than I thought he'd be, but it actually worked in my favor. I said I was going to use him for a cell phone strap, right? Well, before I got him, I was afraid that he'd be a bit too clunky for the phone. But it turned out that he was a perfect fit. So now I have the Purin Hakushaku on my cell phone. I do feel a little bad for my Kallen phone strap, though. I tried to make my own, but it didn't work out. So, I very carefully, pried Kallen off of her strap, and used it for Lloyd. I'll probably put Kallen on a keychain, though. Sorry, Kallen, but Lloyd takes priority!
